In a low-cost LED bulb, the driver is often 30–40% of the bill of materials — and the single most common reason the bulb comes back. Electrolytic capacitors dry out, ICs fail on surge, and the whole assembly grows taller than the shade allows. The alternative that Chinese fixture engineers have quietly adopted is simpler: move the voltage into the chip itself.
The 36V 1W 2835 SMD LED from the BOSMFC range is a high-voltage emitter that runs directly from a 36 V rail, with a 2.8 × 3.5 × 0.8 mm footprint, CRI 85 and a colour temperature span from 2700 K warm white to 12,000 K cool white. Instead of stringing eleven or twelve low-voltage chips in series to reach mains-derived voltage, one chip handles the drop — fewer solder joints, a shorter board, and a much thinner finished lamp.

| Design approach | Parts on the board | Practical result |
|---|---|---|
| Classic low-voltage string | 12–15 chips + driver IC + electrolytic cap | Taller housing, more solder points, capacitor is the weak link |
| 36 V high-voltage chip | 7–9 chips + linear IC | Shorter board, no bulky cap, simpler assembly line |
| Trade-off to manage | Linear IC dissipates the surplus | Keep rail voltage close to the string total, and heatsink the IC |
A 36 V platform lets a bulb reach a 220 V rail with a compact linear IC instead of a transformer driver. The result is a lighter lamp, a shorter neck and one less component family to qualify.
Long aluminium boards love high-voltage strings: fewer chips per metre means wider spacing, easier thermal spreading and a lower component count on the SMT line.
Small apertures cannot host a bulky driver. A high-voltage chip plus a linear IC fits inside a GU10 or a shallow recessed can, and CRI 85 keeps retail and hospitality colour rendering acceptable.
Wherever a 36 V DC rail already exists — range hoods, bathroom mirrors, display cabinets — the chip can be driven with a simple constant-current stage and no mains isolation.
The 120° beam and stable 2700–12,000 K range make it usable in signage backlighting and panel indicators where a 36 V bus is already routed.
The emitter is produced by Dongguan Lanjin Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (东莞市蓝晋光电有限公司), the manufacturer behind BOSMFC. Founded in 2005, the company runs a 2,500 m² facility with constant-temperature anti-static workshops, holds ISO9001:2015 certification and two national invention patents, and supplies SMD LED, through-hole LED, LED displays and LED PCB assemblies. All products meet EU RoHS, reels ship with anti-static bag and carton, and the factory quotes 500KK pcs monthly capacity with 5–15 day delivery.
Send your bulb or tube design and target lumen output to the Lanjin team — they will confirm the 36 V bin, CCT and reel quantity before you lock the PCB layout.
